I had heard good things about Prague, it is well renowned for its nightlife and was informed that extended to the metal scene there, metalheads won’t be wanting for a place to drink here. The first place I found was the Hells Bells Rockin’ Pub, which is located underground, and had a great character and great beers (although that is the norm for Prague, and indeed this part of Europe). Music there was a mix of heavy and mainstream rock:
Next up was the Gorila Rock Pub. This was somewhat more mainstream but would still be fun for a night out:
Finally I got the metro back across town to what was the best bar music wise of the night, and I was so impressed that I paid it another visit the following evening before I got the sleeper to Krakow. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Metal Bar ERROR:
The manager of the bar greets you at the door, and unlocks the inner gate, allowing to enter the main bar area – and then lets you out when you are ready to leave. They play classics like Black Sabbath and also more extreme bands such as Archgoat. I ended up not wanting to leave Prague, as I previously mentioned a recurring theme is that I allowed myself too little time to appreciate any one destination, primarily due to wanting to exploit the freedom of my Interrail pass as much as possible. But Prague is definitely up there on places to make a return to, no doubt about it.
