Krakow has many great places for a drink, and furthermore Poland is probably one of the cheapest places to get a beer in Europe! There are many places with lots of character amid a beautiful city, and at 5-10 zloty (£0.92-£1.85 at the time of writing) for a half litre, you can’t really go wrong.
Pub Pod Ziemią
This was the first bar I paid a visit to, walking into this basement bar to the sound of black metal, and later a live show of Ozzy Ozbourne and Black Sabbath played on a projector. The first evening I stuck to non-alcoholic beers due to an early start in the morning, and discovered that Lech’s non-alcoholic mixed fruit beer is quite nice. I returned during my last evening in Krakow to find a traditional Polish folk band playing a mix of traditional songs and covers.
PUB Propaganda
This bar is so named for being decked out with old propaganda posters from the Communist era, along with vintage electronics and memorabilia from that time. A pretty relaxed and quiet atmosphere (it was a Monday evening when I visited, though like with Pub Pod Ziemią I paid it another visit during my last evening in Krakow), and all in all is a pretty cool place. They were mainly playing punk and rockabilly which I enjoyed a glass of Zubar (a dark beer I quite enjoyed although I was informed later on that the locals consider it cheap and nasty).
